East Central Energy Fiber is reaching towards high-speed connectivity with a new broadband warehouse and office building. Recently, Premier Energy had a visit to install their cutting-edge technology, the ThermaRay floor heating system, in Braham, MN. As a result, this helps East Central Energy (ECE) Fiber reach its goals when it comes to high-speed connectivity.
Premier Energy installs ThermaRay for ECE Fiber
East Central Fiber’s new 25,520 square foot building has been installed with top of the line ThermaRay Thermal Mass Floor Heating System by Premier Energy USA.
ECE awarded $15 million in broadband grants
In a recent announcement, ECE informed their readers that they received $15 million in grants. Three grants are making up this total and are central to broadband initiatives in northern Isanti County, central Kanabec County, and southern Pine County. These counties have faced the frustrating reality of low internet coverage.
Ty Houglum (VP/CIO of ECE) stated, “This is a historic moment for ECE and the communities we serve. It speaks to the incredible efforts of our employees and the forward-thinking approach of our board of directors.”
It didn’t take long after ECE announced their official decision to enter the broadband business that they received these grants. Soon, ECE will be one of the major players who bridged the digital divide for these economically challenged counties.
Building a connected future
Beyond the vision of providing internet, they also strive for equitable access to reliable internet. Ty expressed, “The digital divide between those with internet and those without has resulted in a lack of opportunities for our membership. A high-quality fiber connection will deliver major services such as telework, telemedicine, and online schooling.”
Construction began on May 8th associated with the commencement of fiber line installations. They will begin installation of both overhead and underground fiber lines in Falbo first, before moving on to Braham, Ogilvie, and Pine City. The project is expected to be completed by June 2025.
Progress and Colaboration
ECE members are encouraged to visit ECE Fiber’s website to express their interest in fiber internet services. By signing up online, members will receive timely updates as ECE progresses progress on the network building. This will include pricing details and package tiers.
