Benefits:

  1. Takes up no floor space and less space in the mechanical room
  2. Qualifies for the Off-Peak & Dual Fuel programs
  3. Lower material cost. Typically, 30%-60% less
  4. 35% – 70% less cost to operate vs. hydronic or forced air.
  5. Save exponentially on Styrofoam insulation (Materials only). Not required for our thermal mass system, but typically associated with hydronic systems
  6. Simple Installation – A fraction of the time to install vs. tubing or any other system.
  7. Healthiest Environment
  8. No eventual repair or replacement common with all other heating systems.
  9. Lowest overall lifetime cost vs. “Any” other heating system.
  10. Quiet & Invisible
  11. No Maintenance – No moving parts
  12. Unlimited control options. Premier Control Options
  13. Qualifies for LEED Points. LEED Points – ThermaRay
  14. 45+ Year stellar track record with no failed systems

Thermal Mass !

Bottom line is that the larger the thermal mass, the lower the operating costs. ThermaRay’s Floor Heating System under concrete is the only true Deep Heating Thermal Mass System Heating System on the market today. Hydronic/Tubing systems with 2” Styrofoam under the tubes drastically increase the operating cost because they limit the thermal mass.  Tubing installers will tell you that if you don’t put insulation under the tubes, you will lose all that generated heat to the earth. If the thermostat never shut off, then it would drive it down further, but that’s not a reality.

Physics

It’s a matter of physics. Heat is like a magnet; it’s drawn to the cold and can only transfer to colder temperatures. Put your hand on the table and your heat transfers to the table. Put your hand on a cup of coffee and the heat transfers to your hand. The thermal mass created is 24″ – 30″ deep that will only release into the area above it when it is cooler than the thermal mass.  If you take a large rock and a small rock out of a fire, the larger rock will hold the heat longer.

Thermal Mass + Control Strategies + Technology = Tremendous Energy Savings

Controls can be as simple as a dial thermostat on the wall to the latest in technology. Total building automation with remote access, Wi-Fi or even Invisible. Yes – Invisible heating system & Invisible controls. Premier Energy USA along with Premier Controls provide a control package and strategy customized for your specific project to optimize the efficiency, control and comfort of your space.

Specs & Techs:

Floor Heating panels consist of a double Teflon coated Nickel Chromium heating element wire embedded in sheetrock with (2) hot to cold feed connections and (2) 6″ lead wires coming out one end of the heating panel.  The sheetrock is merely a vessel for keeping the wires properly spaced and for ease of shipping, storing, handling and installing.

Heating panels are 1/2″ thick, 18″ wide and 4′, 5′, 7′ or 8′ Long. See Spec Sheet – TR – Spec Sheet (Floor Heat) Once the panels are placed wired and tested, approximately 8″ of fill sand or other medium is placed over the heating panels, tamped if necessary. Concrete floor is then typically placed over the entire system.
