Despair to Delight - A Radiant Ceiling Saga -

From Despair to Delight is a radiant ceiling saga that began in April of 2023. Nancy and Ed bought a home many years earlier that had a ceiling cable heating system installed sometime in the late 60’s early 70’s. At the time, they were unfamiliar with this type of heating, but quickly became a big fan. Gentle radiant warmth from above like walking from the shade to the sun on a cool day. It was like getting a Warm Hug whenever they walked into their home.

Then things went horribly wrong

However, on August 5 of 2023 they were awakened by their dog who is afraid of thunderstorms. Ed went to the kitchen/dining room because it sounded like very heavy rain only to discover a large part of their maple tree was protruding through the ceiling with water pouring in. The ceiling as well as the cable heating wires were hanging down so the kitchen/dining room ceiling and the heating cable system were irreversibly damaged. Insurance company was called, demolition began but everything came to a standstill.

Nancy spent 3 months talking to electricians, HVAC firms, builders, and remodelers trying to find anyone that could restore the heat in the ceiling that they had grown to Love. A new roof was installed within a few days but months went by with an open ceiling and exposed floor above in the middle of the main room in their home.

Nancy finally found Premier Energy USA and it seemed too good to be true but in fact it was perfect. One great thing about ceiling heat is that each room is independent, so just the area of the kitchen/dining room was affected.

Nancy and Ed provided the dimensions of the room, on center spacing of the trusses, location of lights and any other obstructions. Premier Energy provided a rough layout from which they could fine tune the choice of panels to install, and despair was close to gone. Hi Don,

I have been meaning to get back to you but was waiting for the weather to get warmer. The ceiling panels are Awesome! Ed and I cut back the old ceiling drywall and cleaned out the insulation that would have interfered with the panel placement. We then ran the support straps and the wire and placed the panels as your layout showed. When the electrician came, he hooked up the panel connections, the electric service, and checked the ohm readings. He said the panels were well made and marked the connections.

I am so glad we found your website because nobody installs the cables anymore, I can’t blame them. We had several electricians look at the job and they all suggested baseboard heat or mini splits, both nonstarters. Your product is really quite simple, easy to install, and puts out a warm comfortable heat

We appreciated your help and lightning-fast responses. We are so happy with the panels. I think if more people had a chance to experience radiant ceiling heat, they would opt for the more efficient, less expensive, healthier and more comfortable radiant heat.
