Building Her Dream
Durango Colorado The owner dreamed of building her own home at a very young age. Here’s her story of inspiration:
“When I was eleven, my neighbors a young couple slowly designed and built their own home.
They did this over a period of years. I watched in amazement as they slowly, and without any debt, created a stunning, yet simple home.
I recall the moment that I decided that when I grew up, that I was going to do the same thing!
Decades later, my patient dream manifested. My wonderful husband and I started designing and building our own debt free home.
We did the design and drafting (No CAD) just a drafting pencil, architect ruler and graph paper. Once the design was finalized, we began the foundation.
Smart & Efficient
Warmth, comfort and energy savings were very important to her and her husband:
“We wanted a SMART and ENERGY efficient home. Part of that was having ThermaRay Heating Panels which created Thermal Mass and runs during off-peak hours. The savings is amazing.
